Royal International Horse Show 28 July 2002 

The British Horse Society Golden Jubilee Riding Clubs Team Jumping Championships

What a day! Ardingly continued their run of success at the Royal International Horse Show by taking the above title out of 82 teams with another Team from the Club being placed 9th. A third team entered finished on 4 faults, just out of the prizes. 11 out of the 82 teams finished with a clean score sheet. The day was extremely hot with the first horse jumping at 0800 and the day finishing with the prize giving at 1600 but it was well worth the wait for our teams.  Each team consists of 3 riders who each completed 1 round against the clock over a different height (0.85m/0.95m/1.05m). Our 'A' team took the title by 0.2 secs from the second placed club. A big thank you to our 'Chef d'Equipe' on the day Sue Ewins for her help & support, and also to those that came along and supported the teams. The team details are:-

1st Place - Ardingly 'A' 

Jenny Elgey - Denstar / Liz Day - Well Done / Claudia Hamlett - Colour of Magic

9th Place - Ardingly 'C'

Nicola Hill - Fleetmead Factotum / Juliette Huckstep - Valemount Jasper / Julie Bunn - Fleetmead Scherzo

Ardingly 'B' were unplaced with 4 faults just outside the prize winners. This was a great result as the team had some last minute substitutions due to lameness in the original team with Claudia Hamlett, Theresa Hemmings & Sue Nolan competing on the day.
